“The Sister Accord” is a movement founded by Corporate Executive, Sonia Jackson Myles, to emphasize the power of Sisterhood in Leadership Development. One of the many opportunities to teach young women about the mission of “The Sister Accord” is through the launch of The Sister Accord Leadership Enrichment Council.
The Leadership Enrichment Council will be made up of motivated high school girls who meet once a month. Guided by Sonia Jackson Myles, the young women will strengthen their leadership skills as individuals and within their community.
The Leadership Enrichment Council will cover topics such as self-esteem, handling stressful situations, and leading by example. On top of the incredible curriculum, participants will participate in enrichment activities, fun outings, and open discussions. If a Sister in the group is falling behind in classes, the council advisors will work to find tutoring and support for its members. “Education is a key area of focus for The Sister Accord Foundation, so it is appropriate that we will ensure that Sisters of the Council are given the opportunity to meet their education goals and objectives.” says Founder, Jackson Myles.
The criteria for joining The Council are (1) you must be a high school girl (2) you must be willing to learn and live the principles of The Sister Accord. Each council must have at least 1 adult advisor. There is a $50.00 participation fee, which includes an exclusive Sister Accord Leadership Enrichment Council t-shirt, The Sister Accord: 51 Ways To Love Your Sister book, a journal, and other amazing resources.
The first Sister Accord Leadership Enrichment Council is launching in Southern California, during the 2nd half of 2014! Want to establish a council in your school or hometown? Contact sonia@thesisteraccord.com for information on bringing this amazing opportunity to your city!
